20i Review

20i review – 20i LTD is a leading independent British web hosting company that excels in reseller hosting and has a superb customer support team.

20i was created by brothers Tim & Jonathan Brealey, who also created Webfusion, 123-Reg and Heart Internet.

Launched in 2016, 20i has quickly grown to become one of the best web hosts in the UK. Their auto-scaling platform and proprietary control panel sets them apart from other traditional shared web hosts that offer cPanel-based web hosting.

20i’s current Trustpilot rating is excellent. This is based on 1,308 customer reviews at the time of writing.

So how good is 20i?

This 20i review is based on my experience with the company and to this day I am still a very happy and loyal customer.

I have worked with many web hosts over the years, and I can honestly say 20i is up there with the very best. Their customer support is very good and they respond to support requests very quickly. Their uptime has been consistent and their platform is pretty fast.

They are a company that is constantly evolving and introducing new features, and because of this, they have made my experience with them an exciting one.

If you are a web designer, an agency or just someone who wants to earn a little extra on the side, their white label reseller plan is great value for money.

As a reseller, you get access to unlimited resources, unlimited 10GB mailboxes, backups (addon), custom nameservers (addon) CDN, DDOS protection and a choice of three platforms, Linux, WordPress and Windows. You also get a decent discount on VPS servers and domain names.

In addition to the above, you can bill your own customers directly without the need for a separate billing system.

You can also customise the entire customer experience in your own brand colours for that extra professional touch.

If you are not looking for reseller hosting, then there is no need to worry about the extra cost for backups; this is included on all of their standard plans.

They have the option of three different stacks, Windows, Linux and WordPress. With Linux, you get the option to install over 80+ apps. With their WordPress stack, they include their own in-house cache plugin and advanced tools such as one-click staging as well as plugins, theme and user management.

Their control panel is easy to use and if you have used cPanel before then you will be instantly familiar with most options.

Their hosting platform works a little different from most traditional web hosts, they use a load-balanced infrastructure which makes it near impossible for there to be a single point of failure. Their platform also uses the power of auto-scaling, which allows your website to scale and receive the resources it requires, however busy it gets.

As well as shared plans, 20i offers managed and unmanaged VPS hosting. Their managed offering includes their custom control panel, unlimited 10GB mailboxes and all of the great features included in their shared plans. Their managed plans start at £34.99 per month.

Their unmanaged VPS servers start at £9.99 per month and you have the option to install 11 distributions (OS) or six one-click apps.

Is 20i expensive?

20i is a little more expensive than your average shared reseller host but with everything they include in their plans, I think you are getting a great deal.

Their shared Linux plans start at £4.99 and their WordPress plans start at £5.99. All plans include free SSL certificates, daily backups, unlimited 10GB mailboxes, a malware scanner, DDOS protection, global CDN and an advanced performance tool.
